Welcome to my blog, my name is Brady!

I am a university student from Canada and really became a fan of all things food after having my eyes opened to the world of gourmet upon starting work at a local deli when I was 15.

Upon starting Japanese study at university in 2022, I traveled to Japan for the first time in 2023 for 3 months and fell in love with the cuisine.

As a result, I have since been back more than 4 times (one of which on a 1 year exchange program).

Over my extensive time here, as well as an increase in both my Japanese ability as well as my love for Japanese food, it has led me to travel to over 19 prefectures (as of now) and been to over 175 restaurants and counting.

I think that I can speak for a lot of people when I say that one of the highlights of their trip(s) to Japan is without a doubt the food.

However, when it comes to actually looking for recommendations, I feel that they are redundant, and/or in actuality not a lot to rave about.

So while there is the occasional good recommendation I will stumble upon, it is generally a dime in a dozen, and every time I come across run of the mill, oversaturated restaurants I can’t help but get a little frustrated.

If someone is fine with these kinds of suggestions, then I will not hold that against them.

But, I think I can speak for the majority of people in saying that I want to taste food enriched in culture and enjoyed by locals.

For these reasons, I will be showcasing places I have taken an extensive time to find, and hence eaten at, while showcasing what kind of food they offer, the shop atmosphere, and anything else I find interesting about it!
